Dosage calculation made easy.
1,000+ realistic NCLEX-style med math problems with instant grading and a step-by-step solution for every answer — so the math is second nature before it matters most. Free on iPhone and Android.

A focused med math trainer for nursing school and the NCLEX
DoseRightRNis a mobile app that helps nursing students practice dosage calculations. Each round is 10 clinical-style problems; you solve on a built-in keypad, get graded instantly, and see the formula and every step of the worked solution.
It is made for students in ADN, BSN, accelerated BSN, and LPN/LVN programs who need to pass a dosage calculation or med math exam, and for anyone preparing for the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN. Instead of a general question bank, it drills one skill until it is automatic.

Frequently asked
What is DoseRightRN?
DoseRightRN is a dosage calculation practice app for nursing students, available free on iPhone and Android. It drills the med math tested in nursing school and on the NCLEX — tablet and liquid dosing, IV flow rates, IV drip rates, unit conversions, pediatric weight-based dosing, and reconstitution — with 1,000+ realistic problems, instant grading, and a step-by-step worked solution for every question.
What is the best app to practice dosage calculations for nursing school?
DoseRightRN is built for exactly this. Unlike broad NCLEX question banks, it focuses only on dosage calculation, so you get unlimited short reps of the problem types that cause the most dosage-exam failures, with the formula and every step shown after each answer. It is free to start on iPhone and Android, needs no account, and works offline.
Which dosage calculation topics does DoseRightRN cover?
Six categories: Tablet & oral liquid dosing (Desired / Have × Vehicle), IV flow rate (mL/hr for infusion pumps), IV drip rate (gtts/min by gravity with 10, 15, 20, or 60 gtts/mL tubing), unit conversion (mg/mcg/g, mL/L, lb/kg), pediatric weight-based dosing (mg/kg, including divided daily doses), and reconstitution (powder concentration and volume to draw up).
Is DoseRightRN good for NCLEX and nursing school dosage calculation exams?
Yes. Problems are written as clinical scenarios in the style of NCLEX-RN, NCLEX-PN, and nursing-program dosage calculation (med math) competency exams, and answers are graded with standard nursing rounding conventions. It is a focused drill tool, so many students pair it with their course textbook or a full NCLEX question bank.
Is DoseRightRN free?
Yes. The free version includes daily practice rounds in Tablet Dosage, IV Flow Rate, IV Drip Rate, and Unit Conversion, plus step-by-step breakdowns, streaks, and accuracy tracking, supported by ads. You can earn extra rounds by watching a short ad. The optional DoseRight Pro subscription unlocks unlimited rounds, the Pediatric and Reconstitution categories, and removes ads. Current pricing is shown in the app.
Is DoseRightRN available on Android?
Yes. DoseRightRN is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
Does DoseRightRN work offline?
Yes. Practice questions, grading, and breakdowns run on your device, so you can study without an internet connection — on a commute, between clinicals, or in a hospital with weak signal.
Do I need an account to use DoseRightRN?
No. There is no sign-up or login. Open the app and tap Start. Progress and streaks are saved on your device with an anonymous identifier.
What rounding rules does DoseRightRN use?
Standard nursing conventions: tablets and mL volumes to the tenths place, infusion pump rates to a whole mL/hr, gravity drip rates to whole gtts/min (you can't give part of a drop), and pediatric weight-based doses to the hundredths place.
How do I cancel DoseRight Pro?
On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → DoseRight Pro. On Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → DoseRight Pro. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the current billing period.
Is DoseRightRN a substitute for clinical judgment?
No. DoseRightRN is a study and practice tool. It is not intended for use in patient care or to make real clinical dosing decisions. Always follow your institution's protocols and verify with a licensed professional.
